II. Selections
Psalm 119:75
I know, O LORD, that your judgments are right,
and that in faithfulness you have humbled me.
Deuteronomy 8:15b-16
[ The LORD your God] made water flow for you from flint rock, and fed you in the wilderness with manna that your ancestors did not know, to humble you and to test you, and in the end to do you good.
Hebrews 2:11
For the one who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one Father. For this reason Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters ...
John 2:10b
" ...But you have kept the good wine until now." [ The chief steward to the bridegroom]
III. Meditation: Keeping the best till last
You humble and test us,
feed us in the wilderness;
but your judgments are right.
In the end you do us good,
even if it means keeping
the best wine until last.
And the best is this-
the one who sanctifies
and we who are sanctified
all have the same Father;
hence Jesus is not ashamed
to call us brothers and sisters.
