III. Meditation: In our days of affliction, we remember
We remember, in our days of affliction and wandering,
all the precious things that were ours in days of old.
Weary, carrying heavy burdens, we remember your
promise of rest to all who accept your invitation.
We remember that you are the strength of your people,
that you are the saving strength of your anointed-
and that as we now bear the image of the man of dust,
we will also bear the image of the man of heaven.
