Psalm 32:8

I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
Daniel 9:3
Then I turned to the Lord God, to seek an answer by prayer and supplication with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.
Hebrews 2:10
It was fitting that God, for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many children to glory, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
John 12:46
“…I have come as light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness. … ” [Jesus to the crowd]
III. Meditation
We are in darkness; you have said
we need not remain there, for you
have come to be the light of the world.
You have promised to instruct
us and teach us the way to go;
you have told us you will counsel
us and keep your eye upon us.
We turn to you to seek an answer.
Is it by prayer and supplication
that we shall find the way?
Is it by fasting and sackcloth and
ashes—by suffering, as Jesus,
the pioneer of our salvation, suffered?
