II. Selections
Psalm 97:11
Light dawns for the righteous,
and joy for the upright in heart.
Joshua 1:1-2
After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying, “My servant Moses is dead. Now proceed to cross the Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the Israelites.”
Ephesians 3:7
Of this gospel I have become a servant according to the gift of God’s grace that was given me by the working of his power.
Matthew 8:8
The centurion answered [Jesus], “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; but only speak the word, and my servant will be healed. … ”
III. Meditation
When Moses died, you made
Joshua leader in his place.
It is by your grace that we serve;
and when you call us, your
power works within us.
We are not worthy to have
you come under our roof,
but you come; and with your
presence light dawns and
joy fills our being.
