You have rescued us from our foes,
from the devil who prowls like a roaring lion;
from false prophets who have come to us in sheep’s
clothing but inwardly were ravenous wolves.
Do not sweep us away with the wicked,
even though sometimes we are wicked, too.
Remember us in our low estate.
We cast all our anxiety on you,
knowing that you care for us.
