Almighty God, you called Abram
to walk before you and be blameless;
but no one living is righteous before you.
Clearly the law does not cleanse us once for all,
or we would not need continually to renew the cleansing.
Unlike Jesus, we seek to do our own will, not yours.
For his sake, do not enter into judgment with us.
to walk before you and be blameless;
but no one living is righteous before you.
Clearly the law does not cleanse us once for all,
or we would not need continually to renew the cleansing.
Unlike Jesus, we seek to do our own will, not yours.
For his sake, do not enter into judgment with us.

Selected Verses
Ps. 143:2
Do not enter into judgment with your servant,
      for no one living is righteous before you.
Gen. 17:1
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said to him, "I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless. …"
Heb. 10:1-2
Since the law has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered year after year, make perfect those who approach. Otherwise, would they not have ceased being offered, since the worshipers, cleansed once for all, would no longer have any consciousness of sin?
John 5:30
"I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek to do not my own will but the will of him who sent me. …" [Jesus to his critics]
