Jesus, it was you who opened our eyes--
what do we say about you?
You are the one who will forgive our sins and
cleanse us from unrighteousness--
what do we say about you?
Can we not say that we are secure in you,
that we are unafraid of evil tidings?
That our hearts are firm and steady, trusting that
in the end we will look in triumph
over all that frightens us?
If these things we can say about you,
why should we envy any one?
what do we say about you?
You are the one who will forgive our sins and
cleanse us from unrighteousness--
what do we say about you?
Can we not say that we are secure in you,
that we are unafraid of evil tidings?
That our hearts are firm and steady, trusting that
in the end we will look in triumph
over all that frightens us?
If these things we can say about you,
why should we envy any one?
