Into a city all in
turmoil,
he entered triumphant
and victorious,
humbly riding on a
donkey.
“Who is this?” asked
all the people.
This is the righteous
one, the King;
for us unrighteous
ones he suffered,
put to death in
flesh, he lives;
and to God his
suffering brings us.
In the valley of
darkness with us,
rod and staff protect
and comfort;
our King has
triumphed over death
and takes away our
fear of evil.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion!
Shout
aloud, O daughter Jerusalem!
lo, your king comes to you;
triumphant
and victorious is he,
humble and riding on a donkey,
on a colt,
the foal of a donkey.
1 Pet. 3:18
For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the
righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh but made
alive in the spirit…
Matt. 21:10
