When John was
arrested, Jesus took his place.
Though John opened
the way for Jesus,
Jesus was far greater
than John.
When Moses died,
Joshua took his place.
Joshua became a
powerful leader,
but not as great as
Moses.
Seven exorcists tried
to displace Paul,
appropriating the
name of Jesus;
they were dismal
failures.
We mourn the loss of
our great leaders;
make us grateful for
their lives,
and find us new
leaders
who will carry on
what they started
and lead us on to
right paths,
for your name's sake.
