We are poor, we are
needy;
in a desert we seek
water,
and our tongues are

are alien;
for your household we
are thirsting,
but hostile questions
fill our heart.
Do not forsake us, be
our refuge;
with your water slake
our thirst;
we pour out our heart
before you.

citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God…

discussing these questions among themselves; and he said to them, “Why do you
raise such questions in your hearts?
