We jump to
conclusions, Lord Jesus,
like Eli, dismissing
prayer as drunkenness;
like the apostles,
speculating on the end time;
like the people who
rejected you as cornerstone.
Teach us to be
satisfied with our limited knowledge,
content to speak of
the glory of your kingdom
and to tell of your
power.
