Father of mercies, God of all
consolation,
you have consoled us in all our
affliction.
Now enable us to console the afflicted--
may we hear the sound of their weeping,
the groans of those who search for bread;
and hearing, work for ways to feed them,
for Jesus knew what it was to be hungry.
