We praise you, Holy
God, our Maker;
let everything that
breathes praise you.
You created all
things; by your will they
existed and were
created. You live forever
and forever; you are
worthy to receive glory,
honor, and
power. As for us, we are mortal--
how can we be
righteous or pure before you?
You gave us Jesus; he
showed us how to live,
but he was not
honored; he was rejected,
even by those who
knew him best.
Do not we reject him,
too?
Christ, have mercy;
