When we are full of
amorous love
we think it is strong as death
and fierce as the
grave;
but though we profess
to be certain of
this,
we seek assurances
and desire proof.
How much more
do we want evidence
of your authority
over our life,
Jesus--but you seldom
gave skeptics
comfort! Be powerful in us, O Christ, and
satisfy us in the
morning with your steadfast love.

Selected Verses
Ps. 90:14
Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love,
so that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
so that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Song Solom. 8:6
Set me as a seal upon your heart,
as a seal upon
your arm;
for love is strong as death,
passion fierce
as the grave.
Its flashes are flashes of fire,
a raging
flame.
2 Cor. 13:3
…since you desire proof that Christ is speaking in me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but is
powerful in you.
Luke 20:7-8
So [the chief priest, scribes, and
elders] answered that they did not know where [the baptism of John] came
from. Then Jesus said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what
authority I am doing these things."
