He Who Suffered for Us Calls Us--Nov. 25, 2021

Forfend, dear God, that I should be envious 

of any who benefit from your generosity, 

for you have dealt bountifully with me. 

 

Christ has given us an example to follow, 

for humble and lowly, he did what was right

even though he suffered for it; and he calls us--

for whom he suffered--to walk in his steps.

But if you endure when you do right and suffer for it, you have God’s approval.  For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps.
