Day and night, tears for food,
we ask, “Where are you, God?”
People suffer, people die,
Where are you?
We have not looked
in the right place.
Among us stands one
whom we do not know.
Open our eyes to see Jesus,
who suffered and died,
that by your grace
he might taste death for everyone.
You have your own question for us,
the one you called out
to two who shivered in the garden,
“Where are you?”
