Deep Calls to Deep--Sept. 8, 2015

Deep calls to deep,

and the words of Joshua

sadly were fulfilled

by the deaths of the builder's

two sons.

Deep calls to deep,

and Paul was torn between

the desire to live

and the desire to die.

Deep calls to deep,

and three grieving women

went to the tomb to anoint

the body of Jesus.

Deep calls to deep,

and the thunder  

of your cataracts

and all your waves

and your billows

roll over us.
